    Diet can have an effect on symptoms of IBS and quality of life. The diet changes required are dependent on the individual’s symptoms. The Low FOMDAP diet can be trialled with specialist dietetic support if initial dietary changes are unsuccessful in achieving symptom control. The diet trial works on a step-by-step approach to a low FODMAP diet which includes dietary restriction, reintroduction and maintenance phase.
